Reporting

Measuring Telenor’s economic, social and environmental performance is the key to understanding the impact of our operations, driving continuous improvement and establishing transparent dialogue with stakeholders.

Telenor Group strives to improve the non-financial performance of all its operations, as well as maintain transparency and accountability towards stakeholders. In 2010, Telenor completed a major project streamlining its non-financial reporting system and processes. The project involved improving the reporting guidelines and definitions, optimizing the scope and areas measured and streamlining the data gathering process. As part of the project, Telenor decided to integrate its non-financial reporting process utilizing its financial reporting system. The new reporting system and framework ensures more efficient and accurate consolidation of figures, resulting in improved data processing, analysis and reporting.

Integrating non-financial reporting

Growing internal need for performance management, governance and control, as well as the evolving external expectations drive Telenor Group to further integrate non-financial reporting with the financial reporting processes.
In 2011, Telenor Group assigned a global professional services firm to conduct a limited review of its non-financial reporting processes for the 2010 reporting period, according to the International Standard on Related Services (ISRS) 4400 – “Engagements to Perform Agreed-upon Procedures”. The results from this review are used internally to set a baseline for the quality of non-financial reporting data and data acquisition; and support our preparation for future audit and assurance. Our aim is to further professionalise our non-financial reporting, including seeking third-party assurance.
