Connectivity matters in Asia, but just how much? That’s what Telenor Group and Frontier Economics wanted to find out. Together, they have released a regional study that quantifies the actual impact of the telecommunications sector within the five Asian markets where Telenor operates. The study looks at the industry’s contributions, revealing that telecommunications represented more than one percent of the GDPs in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Myanmar, Thailand and Malaysia. The report also assesses how telecommunications is impacting productivity, economic activity and societal improvement in Asia.
