Fornebu to remain Telenor headquarter for 25 years with new property owners
Telenor sells the headquarter office building at Fornebu, Norway to NPRO Holding AS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Norwegian Property ASA. The building will continue to operate as Telenor’s headquarter for the next 25 years.
The sale is a part of Telenor’s continued simplification program, and reflects Telenor’s future office needs. Norwegian Property, who is a Norwegian, listed real estate specialist operating a large property portfolio in the Oslo area, including neighboring properties at Fornebu, will further develop the headquarter as a vibrant, multi-tenant campus benefitting Telenor and its employees, as well as the area at large.
“The important thing for employees is how the workspace enables collaboration and supports their way of work. The employees should get a sense of pride walking into the offices as it reflects the Telenor culture and contributes to the employer brand,” says Cecilie B. Heuch, Executive Vice President, Chief People and Sustainability Officer at Telenor Group.
Telenor will still be present in significant areas of the building, and will lease back parts of the buildings for 25 years.
“While the property will get new owners, we will still have our headquarter in this iconic building at Fornebu, which we also know has a strong identification for our employees and to Telenor. We are looking forward to this change of ownership and a dynamic and energizing workspace facilitating social and professional interactions between employees,” Heuch concludes.
