At Telenor, we are advancing the modernisation of the telecommunications industry through our numerous strategic partnerships. Here are some examples.

Resilient networks with Norwegian Defence (5G)

At Telenor, partnering and collaboration removes traditional boundaries between the manufacturer, integrator, seller and customer. To meet our customers’ needs, we work together to find synergies and solutions based on complementary strengths. One example is our collaboration with the Norwegian Defence, where we are working alongside multiple partners, such as Ericsson, Cisco, Microsoft and Nokia. The goal is to create a solution based on enhanced civilian technology (including 5G private networks, SD-WAN and more) that can work for defence-grade communication demands. Together we are uplifting security, movability and reliability, and at the same time augmenting resilience through mass civilian infrastructure and the effect from reuse of components.

Security-as-a-Service with Cisco in Telenor markets

Growing demand for Security-as-a-Service in the Norwegian market led us to engage with Cisco as a partner. Together we developed the successful “Safe Zone” as-a-service security product for consumers and small to medium-sized enterprises in Norway. This meant that these customers could upgrade security despite not having the means to buy and integrate multiple security systems, which is done by large enterprises. After successful uptake in the Norwegian market, the product has been replicated in Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Malaysia.

5G mobile private network with AWS in Thailand

Together with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Telenor’s subsidiary dtac in Thailand launched a pilot 5G mobile private network (5G MPN) with the aim to transform supply chains for Thai businesses, including those in retail, manufacturing and logistics. This solution supports businesses in their digital transformation and in driving efficiency in their operations. Built on AWS, the 5G MPN is equipped with three core edge solutions: the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML). The 5G MPN is a dedicated 5G core system using a private 5G core designed for optimised integration with edge computing, using mobile spectrum on 5G connectivity. This solution offers high reliability, low latency and superior security. The solution was showcased at the Mobile World Congress 2023 as a pilot initiative with a potential to be applied across industries.

Telenor Shared Services, Service Implementation partner for Google Cloud Contact Center AI (CCAI)

The Google CCAI solution was enabled in Telenor Shared Services (TSS) for end users in 2022 on voice and chat to provide 24/7 support on selective use cases. The virtual agent can support in English and Norwegian, with the capability of human agent support as backup. TSS implemented Google CCAI with minimal cost, utilising in-house resources. With Google CCAI we can provide a more personalised and efficient customer experience by automating repetitive tasks, routing customers to the right agents and providing real-time assistance. In addition, we reduce costs by automating tasks, improving agent productivity and analysing customer behaviour. Google CCAI is built on the Google Cloud Platform, which is one of the most secure cloud platforms in the world, offering a variety of security features that help protect data.
